Thorola Islodyne Model 55

I am trying to locate information on this radio and about the company Reichmann Company. The one I have needs work on the exterior, but in interior is in good shape. I also have a 3 dial radio, much like the Thorola, but there are no markings on the radio. The coils are different on the inside and the only thing on the front panel is "WORLD WIDE BROADCAST RECEIVER"

Any help on these items would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brad

There are a couple pages of information in Radio Manufacturers of the 1920's by Alan Douglas. Frank Reichmann was president of the company. They made 2,000,000 radios in 1925, 1,750,000 1926 and 1,350,000 1927 when they went bankrupt.

If you can't find an exact schematic try Atwater Kent Model 20 or Stewart Warner 300 series radios. These schematics can be found here on nostalgiaair.

There were also many "home brew" radios made in the 1920's. Your other radio may be one of these.
