:Hi there all---
: I have a HP 410B vtvm, and would like to know where I might find a power transformer for it. I believe that the one in it is shot, I powered it up, and it smoked like crazy, and there was this loud popping and crackling after I powered it off and took it outside. If anyone can help me, feel free to email me at : signalcorpsoperator@gmail.com.

If the transformer or other component was defective, the line fuse should have blown. The line fuse is a .6A 250 volt fuse. I would open the meter up and remove the 6X4 rectifier tube and try powering up again and see what happens. The HP number for the power transformer (T1) is 9100-0021. It is possible the transformer may still be available if it is bad. The power transformer has a dual primary for use on 115 or 230 VAC. The secondaries are 6.25-0-6.25 VAC and 300-0-300 VAC.
