Hey, all: I just picked up this radio and can't find the model number in resources for Stewart Warner. Has the following tubes in it:
RU4, 6K7, 6A8, 6K7, 6J7, 6H6, 6H6, 6C5, 6C5, 6V6, 6V6, and an eye tube that I didn't get the number. It is missing the paper decal inside. Model number is on a metal plate on rear of chassis. Also says "Ferrodyne". On the dial, it says "Magic Dial" and it has some sort of split tuning eye indicator. Without the decal, I can't say that the correct tubes are in place. It is similar to the Chassis R-149 in the resources, but has some different tubes. Can anyone offer some help? Cabinet is in rough shape -seems to be missing all of the veneer on the sides, but top and front is intact. Mark from Kalamazoo

Just pulled the chassis and found the decal laying underneath. The decal states model R-1495-A. Compared the tubes in chassis to decal - The RU4 should be a 5V4G, and the pair of 6V6 tubes should be 6L6. Still can't locate it in the resources. Mark from Kalamazoo

Mark, the R-149 chassis covers models 1491 to 1499. Your schematic is here: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/454/M0020454.pdf
I guess Carlos Murphy's is still making good food, ahh them ribs!

I just started working on my 1495a yesterday so if you need any other information I might be able to help.

Ian: I might need a lot of help on this one. Someone has done some very poor work over the years. I'm finding things not connected, poorly soldered connections, and some strange additions. It doesn't appear to have any of the original knobs. Would like to see a pic of yours if you could. Mark from Kalamazoo

Ian: So, a pic of the knobs that belong on this radio would help. Would also be interested to hear how your restoration is going. Mark from Kalamazoo

Mark, When I worked for the Government I traveled to Battle Creek quite often. A bunch of us would go over to Kalamazoo to eat. It has been a "few" years ago, didn't realize how long. I work on Gibson guitar amplifiers ever now and then.
