I have a serial no 143369 for a Buick sonomatic radio but, no model no.

Can someone provide me with a Model No and year this radio would have appeared in Buicks.

If you could maybe give a good guess at the year. Might be able to find the Sams on Ebey with the picture of the radio on the cover. Go with Buick radio schematic as a start.

A 1939 has the model No 1308221 but I don't know what serial nos apply. In this case I have the serial no 143369 but need to know what Model No and therefore the year that serial number might apply.

Question:

Is this just a unit that you have "come up with" and just want "year" info on it. . . or. . .
are you additionally wanting technical info on its repair.

Seems like the next info needed from you would be for you to pull the specific
metal coverplate covering access to the sets tubes . Get the tube numbers and provide
them to us, along, with the metal cased vibrators numbering,(Metal cased like a tube,
and will wiggle a bit from side to side , and will typically have some (4 ?) compression
spring clips at its base to HOLD, and that is HEAVY on the HOLD it in. (Almost need
to be a dentist to pull it out OR else, use a dental mirror to read its side printed info)

Now with that forthcoming info, we at least might be able to zero in on the decade
of its "birth".

That "Sonomatic" showed up about the start of the 40's and was even on solid state sets
up into the '70's., typically used on the top of the line Buick models.

The late 30's-40 model had cheap yellow -off white knobs like would be found on a table
radio, not like the durable metal knobs to be used later on.
