Not just for all the all the tech stuff but also for all his humorous references. I hope he has a life beyond NA but I am sure with his personality he has
no problem finding someone to keep him amused too.

Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but also can read between the lines on comments I made in my posts. It is like he is always three steps ahead on what could be the problem. I have never gone without help and that is reassuring to a newbie, who is constantly learning.
In addition, his advice is spot on when it comes to testing circuits. He doesn't want you to have an oscilloscope, etc, but basic tools to trouble shoot.
Maybe someday he will tell me about using the clarinet reed that I bought for tuning the RF section of a Philco 60 without any other equipment. That one always amazed me.
His wealth of information available on schematics is a boon to all who ask for his help and guidance. The patience he has with marking up those schematics is mind boggling. It is like he can be at your side and yet hundreds of miles away.
My Labrador Deciever (at my side right now) - [inside joke from Edd] - always likes it best when I get a radio working and the high-pitched sounds stop bothering her.

Among the things found was one topic of Thanks to Edd Day.
So I marked it on my calendar at that time and now am seeing that today is that day.
EDD I really want to thank you for the very insightful information that you had provided me for getting my very old radio working just great. Every time that I turn it on and listen to it, it certainly brings back good memories of the past.
I guess that the procedure is to just add to the list. As it seems that they are all in order.

Edd is a true professional, he answered my first post and propelled me into this hobby that I can not pry myself away from. There should be a holiday for him and maybe he will write "the book". I see him (and others) as caring and sharing on this site. Thanks Edd.

Coming from a woman's standpoint, I think it is wonderful to recieve help from Edd. Being a female with a backround, rusty backround in Electronics...Most men don't like that..Kinda invading their territory. But Edd has never been like that to me. Some time back I was having problems other than a common tube failure with an old tube radio of our family.
A GOOGLE search ended me up at this forum and i initially posted my problems.
After a couple of other initial of responses Edd finally replied to my info and took me through an orderly procedure for the final tracking down and solving of my problem. YAY !
That even included using a special localized and blown up schematic path supplement that he had created.
That certainly helped in jogging my memory of Electronics Technician training in my many years past Navy times.
That was mainly tube info but was just starting transistors introduction. Two completely different things,and very confusing to me on the latter.
My father was a barber and this larger radio was the main focus of information for him and associate barbers and any customers present back in the forties onward.
That was especially true at baseball times. Everyone heard and fondly remembered that radio.
The radio is now sitting back in its place of honor and still serving in the family barbershop where my older brother has become the head barber.
Currently, a television is also present, but one needs to concentrate on the customers hair, oopsies, so hearing things on the radio is still the best.
At the time of completing the repair, curious of other posts and more useful information, I started searching the previous months posts backwards.
At one place, i also ran across this older post and then circled this date on my calendar.
I now find that date is present and it is time to say

In my airline days, we avionics nerds got to be called "Coneheads" from SNL, as all the other skills pretty well knew what each other were doing, while we talked, acted, and worked differently from everyone else. The others thought we were a bit crazy, or at least from another planet, I am not sure in what order. I think Edd would have made the GREATEST conehead of all....well, maybe number two, our foreman was a pretty darned conehead himself.
