Well, Yesterday I very stupidly checking ac line voltage and had the meter set for "ma" . and now ,needless to say doesnt work .I opened it up and check the fuse and sure enough. Now ,Although the meter is alot like like a simpson 260 ,it does not have a civilized fuse holder where you just remove the fuse ,put a new one in and off you go.It has a fuse permenently soldered in place . Can I replace this whith an automotive in-line fuse holder. Will that be critical to the the value the meter is reading. Thank you

I don't think there would be any problem in doing that, as long as it's a good tight connection. And the correct value fuse used. A solder in wire lead fuse is what I would use though. Just for a more direct dependable connection.

I have seen meters where the fuse is part of the Ohms circuit, and the wrong fuse or a bad connection would knock the resistance readings off.

Yeah ,The meter is definately inoperative on any of the functions . Right now, I'm looking at Mouser And still can't find the right one in axial lead. The search continues...........
