I am trying to fix this AC hum problem on a friends radio. I think it is a bad capacitor. Any help appreciated.

There is a orange round filter capacitor mounted on the chassis. This is a multiple section capacitor. you could remove all the insides by cutting it down the side, and digging out all the old junk inside. Then replace with new capacitors with the same value put right inside the original card board. remount, use slide over wire coverings, solder to proper points. Makes a neat repair and still has the original look.
