Back push pins?
5/5/2009 10:01:10 PMVinny(73842:0)
Greetings,
Does anyone know where to get 'push pins' (not sure of what there called and what sizes they have) to hold the backs of radios in place?
Thank you,
Vinny

Vinny, they are called trimounts. Here's one place:

Do a find on the page and you see some. Good luck.

Might try automotive parts store or auto trim shops.

Seems like there was a post describing a way to make your own using large cotter pins.

Vinny,
Found some of those (plastic/metal) items in a True Value hardware store. It had several cabinets with all sizes/shapes of automotive rubber push-thru buttons for doors etc, along with the push-thru pins.
Even specified mfr, OEM p/n and years.

Marv, I finally had the chance to hit a couple of true value stores yesterday, however neither one had those pins.
Thank you so much for doing that for me, there is a guy on the web that I could get them from.

Vinny,
Sorry you were unsuccessful, and guess all Tru Valu hardwares are not the same. Maybe the one near me is unique, and prices are above regular Home Depots etc, but selection is better for normal hardware items.

Hi Vinny, I made some out of cotter pins and they came out really nice. They don't look like the tri-mounts but they do look like the other push pins of that time. You just stick a cotter pin in a vise with the head up, and tap it flat cut off the excess pin and spead a little. They work great in a pinch. Best 2 U, George

I have some available that are exactly like the originals. I spent $1600 and 2 years to get them made. I might be able to get my investment back in about 6 years.
You can make your own, but these are authentic.
