Can anyone suggest a method of removing paint splatter on Bakelite.

It will depend a lot on what kind of paint that splattered on it, but I have been successful using DuPont 7 Rubbing Compound (Automotive) followed by Turtle Wax Polishing Compound & Scratch Remover. (also Automotive) If that doesn't work, I then use Wright's All Purpose Brass Polish. Go over the entire Bakelite case with the Wright's, it really cleans and makes it shine.

Bakelite (make sure it is bakelite and not plastic) is impervious to paint stripper.
