Have you guys run into the same problems I have with mouser: incorrect part orders. time and time again they screw up my order. I guess I will move on to digikey.

Since decent parts suppliers are getting so rare these days - and Radio Shack has become a joke...... I'd recommend we generally support those remaining suppliers (well, perhaps not Ocean State - their service is beyond awful). Otherwise we'll be shooting our ownselves in the foot!!!

There are a ton of parts suppliers on the internet if you look. Digi-key is another large one, I think I will try them for a while.

I've always had good luck with both Mouser and Digikey. My only complaint is their policy of charging CA sales tax. I avoid unknown suppliers of dubious reputation, and most that only ship UPS vs USPS.

Its funny that you mention UPS. I prefer UPS because the post office hasn't learned to spell yet. Their sorters only use the street numbers not the street names hence you may get someone elses mail with the same street number. I'll pay the couple extra bucks.

Never happened to me here in So. CA. Historically, I get small mail box size pkgs within 3-4 days from the east coast at a couple bucks USPS postage. On the other hand its 7-10 days by UPS at 2-3 times the cost. My references are PTOP in Ohio and Brettuns Village in Maine.

Being one I use Mouser more than DigiKey. I've found their prices to be lower, sometimes a lot lower for the exact same item.

I've never had a problem with them. Always fast delivery. In some cases I placed an order one day, and had it on my doorstep the next day. I placed another order this afternoon, and got a shipment notice complete with tracking numbers within 2 hours! Wow. Maybe online orders are more accurate than mail orders since part numbers are always correct.

I've always had excellant service from them although their part numbers ar large and if your off one digit you don't get that widget. PL

My $0.02:

I prefer Mouser for selection, service and price. Many others out there to choose from - Newark, Allied, Jameco, etc...to name a few of the others who sell by the piece.

I always order on the web as well. I like the closely integrated tracking & account management I get from Mouser.

I prefer Fed-Ex. Their price is very close to the others, and they don't smash my package (UPS) or have unreliable delivery times, give it to the neighbors, etc (USPS).
