Has anyone done a solid state conversion of the TV-7 tube tester (i.e., replace the 83 and 5Y3 w/ solid state rectifiers). If so, could you provide details?

Also, does anyone a a TV-7/DU meter (just the panel meter) vailable for sale?

You can replace the 83 with a pair of 1N4007 diodes, wired from the plate pins of the socket to the transformer center tap. Don't replace the 5Y3 or your line-adjust won't set properly.

I doubt you will find a meter. Digital panel meters can be fitted to most tube testers, though, according to people who have done it (not me).
