generator as transmitter

Thought of hooking up my Leader signal generator to PC to transmit music stream to listen to on my restored radios, works like a charm. AM or FM any frequency! PC hooked up to Hi-Fi amp and generator to amp record monitor output so can use DVD/CD/PHONO or tuner as well. Just wondered if any of the other forum guys do this? Don't need a dedicated AM transmitter then.

Yes, I do it. It works fine for AM, but if you have a crystal receiver, you might have a little keeping FM on frequency. I wondered about this until I finally figgered out the FM is xtal controlled and doesn't have AFC.

Yes, many signal generators will broadcast for quite a distance. Probably not FCC compliant?
