3/6/2009 5:21:08 PMBill VA
Philco 47-1230 is covered by SAMS 22-33. I don't have. If someone has it please tell me the impedance of the output transformer. The p/n is 32-8274. Thanks.

Bill's antique radios will give you all the poop on output transformers.

Thanks Bill and Lewis. Understand OPT requirements. I want to know the SAMS published data.

Hi Bill,

I've only restored 4 radios, but Philco 47-1230 was one of them. I offer my help if needed...Neal

Bill:
Googling around a bit, I came across a place called Harp Amps. They seem to know a lot about transformers for tube amps.
Might check it out.

Hi Edd,

Looks like my table disagrees with the SAMS. I got it from Bill's antique radios.

Any Idea why that may be?

Best Regards,

Bill

I just checked the spec sheet form Tung-Sol. It indicates that the plate load is not critical, so anything around 10K would be fine, be it 8K or 12K.
