I have my Dad's old radio, I used to listen to it out in the garage when I was a kid in the early 60's and was fasinated by the different colored lights and all the bands it had. I'd like to restore it to working condition. The tubes are all there and it used to work. It has power to the volume control but none of the tubes light up, nor do the dial lights come on. I know it could be one of a hundred things, but any insight or a staring point would be helpful.
Thanks

How much do you want to get into the practice of fixing up old radios. If this is a one time deal, you may want to have it restored. There is some basic knowledge you will need before you ever poke around the chassis. There are high voltages present and you could get seriously injured. If you want a starting point I would suggest a DVD from Bret's Old Radios - http://www.bretsoldradios.com/ This is a great starting point.
