radiola 33 speaker matchup

Hello all, haven't been in awhile, but I am back in working on a radiola 33 A/C model. My question is can I hookup a 100a speaker to this model, and if so what are the CAP ratings (filter) for the speaker? Is it a hum filter? Or some type of freq. rolloff?

You can find the matching speakers on Ebay right now for that set...I also have reproduction grille cloth that for that particular speaker if you are interested...I have this full set (radio and speaker) ..My radio is on legs....NEAT SET...love the TRUE art deco styling...By the way..This radio is in the TRUE art deco styling with the various geometric shapes...Many people refer to later styling in the 1930s as art deco ..and it is not....It is "streamling" or "modern" in design

Yeah the 20's styling is WAY different than the 30s.
Perhaps the great depression changed all that due to the bottom falling out of everything, and goods being made cheaper to fit the status of an ailing economy? Either way, I personally love the early sets. You can see the quality in the craftsmanship.
Back when the USA actually manufactured products!
What happened to our poor country??!!
I'm looking forward to scrounging up legs for mine as well...they look really nice in the old adverts.
Mine is actually greenish yellow....is that an original color I wonder?

Greenish-yellow??? No...This set hould have a fake wood painted design...with bare metal deco heighlights....The matching speaker should have a grille cloth with a "sun ray" pattern that is silver and black...(but is often brown due to age and smoke discoloration). Around the grille cloth in a circular pattern should be deco designs polished in bright metal. Just one warning...DO NOT clean with a damp or wet cloth you will discolor the paint on both the speaker and radio cabinet...

I own a Radiola 33 and I see no reason why you can't use the 100 a speaker.

The filter in that unit is some kind of tone filter. Thats about all I could tell. I have hoiokedit up with and without the filter and it seems that the filter attenuates the his.
