hi, I just bought one of these monsters on ebay in working order, but anticipate some refurbising, and was trying to locate service and operating manuals. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Jim,I just finished restoring my "Swollensak" T-1515.Is yours the obsolete two track stereo version(like mine)T- 1515 or the more usefull 1515-4, 4-track model? Most people don't realise there is a difference.I cannot locate the schematic for the straight 1515,which came out about a year before the "-4".According to my Sam's index, they did put out a service set for the two-track model.
Mr.Wess was kind enough to send me the same set he sent you.The mechanical parts are the same, model to model, but there are some differences between the 1515 and the 1515-4 as far as the electronics go,especially in the mode switch.
You will more than likely have more problems with the mechanical parts than the electronics, however. The biggest problem I had was with the three rubber idler wheels.Mine were dented from setting for so long, but I cured that without having to replace them.If I can help you in any way,you can e-mail me directly if you'd like at this address:contactmpc@msn.com Good luck,Mike.
