Emerson 440 tube layout

Hi All,
Greeting from Sin City (Las Vegas). I would send a postcard but I don't know where you all live. The economy is pretty bad out here and the casinos aren't fleecing near as many tourist as they use to. People are putting radios on Craigslist and I think I'm the only guy in Vegas buying them. I must be nuts. Guess I should be saving my hard earned cash, but I am totally hooked on these old time radios. What's a poor boy to do. But on with the matter at hand.

I picked up an Emerson 440 and the only schematic I found for the Emerson is for a FH-440. Two of the tubes are way different than the schematic. The 6SK7 has a 7A7 Loktal tube in it's place along with a Loktal socket and the same goes for the 6SQ7 with a 7H7 Loktal. I'm confused did some radio wizard in the past upgrade the chassis or am I lookin at the wrong schematic? The cord was cut but all of the tubes checked out fine.
Also why did so many people cut the cords, and save the radios. It seems to have been a common practice in the past. Nowadays you cut and save the cord, and throw away the new nonworking radio. Thanks All, George T.

Cords get cut off due to bad cord. ( shock & Shorts )
Also is thought to be a fire hazard if the radio is not working. An open filter gives a loud Buzz. Would think it's going to blow up.
