Getting Organized, Slowly
1/24/2009 9:08:00 PMGary W. Prutchick
I am finally getting organized after my move.
It is only when you have to pack and move do you realize how much stuff you have.

Every time I needed a tube meant searching though boxes and bags of loose used tubes, sometimes not even finding the one I needed.

Well I am happy to report that I have finished sorting, bagging and tagging all of my tubes, and created a searchable database that identifies the quantity and LOCATION of every tube in my collection.

It took some time but it was well worth the effort.

To give you an idea, I ended up with almost 2300 tubes, consisting of 540 different radio and TV types.

I am very proud of this accomplishment and wanted to share it with all of you.

Maybe I am just looking for a couple of ataboys!

Yeah, I used my PC and Excel, which is a spreadsheet program.

Yes, I'm quite familia with Excel, you may want to try Access, as you can make a searchable database, reports, etc, but that may be a little over kill.

Gary:
I moved into this house twenty five years ago, and have been trying to get organized ever since. What would you charge to come down Atlanta way and orginize my mess?
Lewis
P. S. I'll get you an airline pass.
