Hello,
Ihave a 1937 (i think) silvertone 4500. The tuning dial is somewhat warped. I was wondering if anyone knows any "tricks" to straigtening these out( or info on repos) for instance can you heat up bakelite to some moderate temp and perhaps bend/mold it back? would apprecijate any ideas.(

The plastic isn't bakelite. If it was, it wouldn't warp, since bakelite is very stable and is practically fireproof. I forgot the name of the plastic, but it shrinks and warps and doesn't do well with finger oils. What I did with my radio was J-B weld brackets to the back side of the escutcheon, and then used those brackets to pull it back into place and keep it there. Depending on the severity, you might or might not be able to do this. There are companies that make reproduction escutcheons. Not sure if there's one that makes yours.
