I have the 1st radio (14WG-806A). Still haven't restored it, though. I bought it on eBay for probably $150. The seller only showed the front, and it looked ok. When I received the set I found that it had obviously been stored in a barn, the chassis is rusted, had mouse droppings, the top is stained, and the plastic dial is warped and the mounting taps cracked off (lesson learned). However, with time and persistance, I will restore the chassis and the cabinet to the beauty you see in the pic (which inspired me to buy the set in the first place), and I have already repaired the plastic dial escutcheon, as well as J-B welded extra metal supports to the back to undo the warping and to secure it better.
Interesting to note that the two light bars do NOT glow with that delicious yellow color. Rather they glow with a typical incandescent white color. -Boring-. I will have to put filters over the bulbs because I think that the set looks better with the golden glow. What's a neon effect without color?
