Mark: It should be in Sam's Photofact AR-98. Price from Sam's is $22, but you can find the book on eBay from time to time for a few bucks.

You might just get lucky by taking the covers off. then look for bad solder connections. Years of hot and cold, vibration and all makes the grounds let go. Sounds like that's what it is, being it did play, then quit.
:I recently purchased a 1971 Pontiac Lemans with a original AM radio. It wasn't working when i got it but after fidling wit the ground wire I got it to work. It didn't work for very long. I am now trying to find a schematic to try and track the problem down. Does anyone know where I can find a schematic for a 1971 Delco AM radio, the model number is 12APB1 serial number 1080670. The car was built in Freemont California
