As a retired hobby pilot someone gave me a couple of aircraft
radios of my heydays of flying. Its a ARC NAV/COM-Unit
called RT 522 A consisting of a RT 532 A COM-Unit and a
R 542 A Nav -Unit. I would like to get the receiver-part
of both units working again, listening into local
air-traffic and nav-based ATIS. Now here the question:
Who can help me with the schematics for the harnesses?
I just want to know where to put the plus/minus and the
speaker. Thanks!
Peter
He does not have all of the technical info though, and what he does have is right there online.
If you have any contacts with some of the A/P mechanics, they might have some of the specific wiring plans for installation, which is really all that you should need to identify those connections. If the A/P guys are reluctant with the information, there are a few legitimate "workarounds".
You probably will have to utilize a matching transformer, unless the headphones were a low impedance 3.2/4/6/8/16 Ohm. I think they are 600 Ohm. Otherwise a low gain power amp would do well for listening via speaker.
Otherwise, if your electronics theory is good, we could probably "talk you through it", and figure it out from various points around the globe.
