A string of eave lights, attach to the eaves, look like icecicles (if that is not spelled right, I am in Georgia and don't usually think of the things. The temperature never got above 70 today, winter will be here in a month or two). So, we have to fake those things that hang off of eaves, and ours were kinda frayed. I decided to put heat shrink over the frayed parts, but that meant partially taking the thng apart. Now, what I shouldn't have said:
"Honey, I have been in electrity and electronics for over fifty years. I don't need to make a schematic to put back together a stupid string of Chinese made Christmas lights."
Three days later, they look and work great.

:That's nice that it didn't get above 70. Never got above 32 here and it's been snowing all day. But the lights do look pretty.
