Wollensak T-1515

Hi all,I have a Wollensak T-1515 two-track stereo reel to reel recorder coming sometime this week.Bought it dirt cheap and I know it will need a lot of tlc.I had the T-1500 mono version when I was a kid.I was wondering if anyone had the Sam's Photofact for this rig.I'm not sure, but the closest I think I am going to get is the T-1515-4 which is the four-track version of this recorder which came out a year later(1959).Any help would be greatly appreciated.Happy Holidays.

I can cover you on the WOOLY-SACK TC-1515-4 which is Stee-row, but I guess you REALLY have to get into the unit and see the
problems involved with. . .be it electro or mechanical . . .in order to see if that mentioned info that it is available, would be
inclusive of either unit.

Michael,
The T-1515 and the T-1515-4 are covered in the same photofact folder.

I can send a .pdf to you........you'll have to provide your email address.

Thanks to both of you gentlemen.Well, the Wollensak arrived today and I have to say that I am more than slightly disappointed.I figured I would have to replace the belts,if I can find some, but on opening her up I found many more problems. The forward idler has a cool flat spot in it,so that's no good. There's another big idler under that one;that one's also got a nice flat spot.Interestingly,I can't for the life of me figure out what that idler does.It never seems to come into play on any function.Last, but not least, the amplifier doesn't work at all except for filaments. On a positive note, all the tubes test good. The chassis has a funky odor coming off it and when I investigated it seems to be coming from one of the two small transformers(not power).I have a sneaking suspicion that that transformer may be cooked, thus leading to the non-operating amp.I have noticed however, that the fast-forward idler looks to be the same unit as the play idler;I could swap the two and at least do away with one problem. The flat spot wouldn't be an issue for the fast forward,it's not that bad so as not to function in that role. All this is a rather moot point if the amp is shot.So Dennis, I will gratefully accept the offer of the pdf. on this machine.I may be able to get the amp functioning if nothing else.Appreciate your offer as well ,Edd and taking the time.Bye for now,Mike.
