Hi new to the old radios. My dad has a radiola 62 that is new shape the problem is when you plug it in all the tubes light but no sound just a hum. Wondering what to check.
Thanks Jim

your filter caps are shot. please review this schematic http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/743/M0015743.pdf
The transformer feeds a rectifier tube ( 280) then this is filtered by 2 chokes marked "filter reactor".
There are 2 caps off of these marked 3.5 MFD. these need to be replaced. 4.7 MFD will work. If your do not know what I am refering to you need to start here
Funwithtubes.com and go from there.

Operadio, great website to say the least. A lot to learn from there especially for a beginner like me.
Thank you for posting the site.
