Grundig 1088

The grundig 1088 I have has a phono input in back. I put my CD player into it via Ground and Music or hot..

For some reason when I push the phono button down, the green eye does not work on this setting only, it just glows faintly. If there are any 1088 owners out there I wonder does it work when you are on this setting?

Hi

The green eye is used for tuning in stations. In phono position it's not needed. Some radios disable the eye in positions other than radio.

Wouldn't expect the eye to glow dim. Something could be shorting B+. If that's the case unit wouldn't operate and smoke may be seen soon.

When in the phono mode the green eye is not used. It still has it's heater on, and has B+ that's why the faint glow. This is normal.

Does anyone know of a source for replacing the buttons on front of the Grundig 1088? I need to locate the "ORCH" button. Thanks......
