Give it a thorough visual check, rocking components slightly to see if the leads are loose. Get a can of circuit chiller use the little red tube to keep the spray in a tight space, spray small amounts until you find the area that brings the sound back. This narrows it to an area, and it becomes a matter of checking individual components. It is possible that a discreet transistor is defective. The circuit chiller will reveal this.
Otherwise you need to use noise injection (sitting near a flourescent light< and using a screwdriver as point contact probe) With the screwdriver, touch each solder joint from the point starting from the selector switch, and working back towards the antenna circuit. When you start touching functioning portions of the circuit, you will hear a "buzz", at the point where the buzz stops occuring, is the point to look at things closely, as this would be the portion where most of the problem is going to be.
