Upping B+ Voltage

I have been building power supplies lately for farm radios. A friend gave me 3 and I already had 1. I found out by Increasing the B+ voltage to about 95 to 100, radio plays much louder and better. Any harm in this?? P. S. I checked max. voltage of tubes and all can take up to 110 volts on plate

It's okay to run 95 to 100 volts plate voltage on most of those radios. That does perk them up. Be sure the capacitors in the radio have the voltage rating to do so.
Those farm radios were made to work on lower voltage to save battery power.

Thanks Warren, I will keep an eye out for arcing and smoke. By the way the radio was a Sentinel and used 1A7, 1N5, 1H5 and made up an adaper to use a 3V4 as output tube

Watch that your signal grid bias voltages don't change due to higher B+ supply voltages or it may take the amplifier stages out of class A operation and cause distortion and oscillation. But if it sounds good to the ear, then you are probably OK. Also be sure that the filament string voltages remain at safe levels.

Thanks Walt had not thought of the other voltages may be affected. But as u say, so far it plays loud and strong. Those tubes can take a little more voltage than 1.4 v. on the filaments. Been using more for 2 or 3 weeks and blown no tubes yet
