Crosley

Greetings, I have a Crosley 11-100U. While testing the tubes I pulled out the 50C5 tube and out came the the metal from the socket that the #2pin (I think the #2pin)goes into, it was stuck to the #2pin. My question because I am having a problem reading the schematic is: Does that pin have any function? I read it as it does not. Can someone please confirm that so I may not have to change the entire socket.
Thank you,
Vinny A.

Looks to me that pin two goes to the grid which
would indeed have a function... others more knowing can correct me if I am wrong.

Can't you just look at the plug underneath and see if there's a wire to that socket?...Neal

there does not appear to be any loose wires.

Is there cap and resistor going to Pin 2? What's connected to pin 5? If pin 2 you have an open within the socket, no audio coupling.

When all else fails look at the schematic...according to voltage chart for the tubes, no connection to pin 2. You should check but your're ok.

Pin #2 & pin #5 are both connected to the same grid inside the tube itself .. If nothing was connected to pin #2 of the socket, it's all connected to Pin #5 ..
Put the tube back in .. Should play fine
