Johnny Found His Static? Maybe?

Thought I'd start a new thread here. So check this out. I'm going through the whole darn chassis again and I find this .001mfd 1600 volt cap that is attached to the side of the RFC and the .015 cap that go to the audio transformer and the other side this cap goes to chassis ground. This cap is "not" on the schematic. With that cap in that location would that cause the static? I'm running the radio now and I'll see if the static returns.

Hello Johnny, Thought I would be first this time----throw in my 2 cents worth, have u rotated the volume control to see if volume is scratch? A shot of good ole WD40 may clear up that. Of course u need the cleaner from RS but last time I checked it was 7 or 8 bucks a can. Or could be from a nearby flourescent lite. I bet that kind of lite spelled wrong lol

:Thanks Jim! The volume and tone controls have no affect on this static. And even after removing that .001 cap it's still there. If you read the previous post from me about needing help with static problem you'll see all the things that I have been trying. It's a mess. I just can't isolate the problem. YET!!! I can make it go away by shorting the RFC to ground but it still comes back.
