I would go directly to the volume control using a selector and a small cap, say 0,05uF, unless the phono cartridge is a low voltage ceramic (below 0,5V)

::Hi all, I would like to add a phono jack to my friends Philco 41-285 what would be the process to go about this? I am guessing a shilded wire (small coax) going to the grid of the detector maybe coupled with a .05 cap? But you all tell me.
::Thanks!
