Horn Speaker

Hi:

Anyone know where I can purchase a nice horn speaker for my restored TRF sets?

I would like a Magnavox (the one with the built in amp - one driver tube).

Thanks
Lou

Lou,

The built-in amp is overkill for most TRF sets and - as alluded to by Mr. Berg - quite expensive and not easy to find. You should be able to pick up a decent horn that will completely serve your needs for $150 - or even less. Performance-wise, I like the RCA UZ 1325 (although it isn't the 'prettiest' of horns). Try looking at a local radio swap meet or hamfest. You might have good luck advertising in the classified section of antiqueradios.com. Good luck!!
