Edison Light bulb How can I tell if it's genuine?
10/29/2008 5:45:58 PMDave Froehlich
Hello All,
I have what looks like an Edison Carbon Filament lamp. How can I tell if it's for real or a reproduction?

I can take pictures of it if necessary.

Thanks,

Dave

The shape of the bulb may help.

Terry,
It looks similar to those only mine has a base on it that a rod could screw into in the middle. The base is brass on the outside and there's one loop in the filament. So none of the ones in the box match mine. This could still be an antique light bulb though.

Thanks,

Dave

Terry,
It looks exactly like the one on this page:

Thanks,
