Mystery Portable AC/DC Radio by GOLDENTONE 2951
10/20/2008 7:28:39 AMDon Carson
Hello,
Just found a really neat little AC/DC portable 5 Tube radio by Goldentone model 2951. It looks like some of the early Zenith Universals, a leatherette covered box, with a flip down front. Has a 5 tube lineup, 25z6, 1N5, 1A7, 1Q5, and a 1H5. I have looked everywhere, and cannot find a schematic for it. Any ideas on where I can find one?? I know most Goldentones were made by Simplex or Fordson, but this does not match any of the schematics posted for either Mfg.

Two hits on the following site a Spiegel 2952 which is suspiciously close to your number but don't think is in Rider and an Espey 958 which I beleive is. Might be of some use for comparison.

That link

I looked over all the radios, and it looks like it similar to the Espy 958 and the Detrola 295-1 looks to be almost dead on. I think I can get it going with these 2 schematics.....
Thanks so much for the help!!!!
