That ‘circa- early ’50 ’ish dee-vice is the some what quirky combination of including a signal tracing function along with the more common resistive capacitance bridge, akin to the solely bridge units, like the Heath CR-1 or the Eico 950 units.

The capacitor function lets one test for proper value along with leakage, while the resistive function tests for resistive value.

The green tuning eye is tuned for null indication when comparing the test unit to an internal reference standard, by rotating the large calibrated dial.

The capacitive leakage is observed via orange neon behind its clear be-dazzling and be-jeweled lamp holder.
Power factor testing function, lets one dynamically evaluate electrolytic capacitors.

The units signal tracing function accepts a signal at the top left corner and its amplified result is monitored via headphones.
