Hi all I faithfully recapped a Airline model 62-288 and rechecked all my work....I slowly turned up radion on variac and it works but at about 1/2 volume only and bran new eye tube flutters allot when tuned into station and left on station. I played with all trimmers to get best volume but no major increase was made. Any suggestions (ohh i check resistors..they ale all good) THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS

I have a 62-282. Miracles are really photogenic.

My guess is a bad connection, ot intermittant tube.

Try testing the grid voltages on the 6S8G, 6K7G, and 6Q7G tubes. Look for when the test comes with fluttering voltage or causes the flutter to stop.
