Thor Radio

On a business trip to PA last month I picked up a Thor Radio. The set has no model number. It is in a metal case, painted black crackle. The set has two windows for plug in coils at the front. Mains opperated and I would think the radio is from appx 1928.Any ideas lads about getting info on this set or indeed this Company. The radio would make a nice show display but much better to have her working again.

Thanks to you all

Just to add a note.

The radio was made somehere in New York. At least according to the old and faded manufacturers label,

You could have a Thorola radio model 50 or 51. These are shown in Antique Radios by Bunis, 3rd edition. They used 01A type tubes, 1928.

Hi del.

Thanks for the input. I have the 5th and 6th editions but no 3rd. So I am no nearer identifying the great set.

Many thanks. Frank Goddard Doncaster England.
