Hi, I just recapped this set and it has a problem, when tuning on the broadcast band I pick up one station pretty much the whole way across the dial, other stations come in but this one (680) seems to always be there. I have aligned the if and rf sections but it is still there, any ideas? By the way this was a pain to align for some reason much harder than usual and the results where not as i had hoped, it just did not want to cooperate
Thanks!

Hi

Any chance the IF's were aligned to 680 rather than 455? Hard to believe but that would cause this problem.

That's what I was thinking, Norm, it is hard to believe, but possible.

What about when you are on the other bands (other than broadcast)? Does the 680 station appear across them too? If so, that would also point the finger at the IF tuning.

Thanks for the responses, I have not heard the 680 station on the other bands, I have aligned the IF at 455 again and the problem still exists, but that does not mean that the signal generator is acting up but I doubt it.
