Crosley 10 tube radio Model 02CA

Rider Schematic:
http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/156/M0003156.pdf

Resistor ID Needed:

There is a resistor broken in half that I need the value of. It's about 2-1/2" long and 3/8" in dia so, according the Norm, it's about a 2 watt (http://www.nostalgiaair.org/forums/messages/953/m0008953.htm) The resistor is physically located in about the center of the chassis

I traced one end of the resistor to pin 4 of the Converter Tube 6SA7 and assumed it was the one labeled "44" but the Rider's Schematic says it's value would be 4M !!!! that seems too high to me, expected something like 15K or so. so did I get lost when tracing the resistor or is the Schematic value in error or is it really 4Meg LOL

I would double check the route of the resistor but the radio belongs to a good friend and it is not here with me now.

Thanx in advance for your help

Tinhorn, unless I'm mistaken, the "M" at the time the schematic was made meant thousand = K. Search schematic and see if you cume up with a resistor marked "Meg", thats a dead give away. PL

Resistor 44 is a 4K resistor on that schematic. If you look at resistor 43, it's labeled 1 meg which would be 1M on modern schematics.

4K is sure a more reasonable value. If I ever heard that M meant K on the old schematics I forgot, course I got a dumb membrain

thanx for the quick response and information. We'll get the electrolytics ordered and will post back here how it went along with any service information we discover that might be helpful to someone else on here.
