Kuba Carmen Export Chassis 664 Stereo Radiogram Looking for Schematic
8/10/2008 9:49:07 AMBob E.
Anyone point me to a source for a schematic for this
Console Set? It was made in West Germany. I opened my
mouth about fixing old radios and a brother-in-law wants
me to try to get it functioning again. I do not know where to look for schematics for European electronics.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Do you have any other model numbers that might help? Have you opened it up yet? Some of these European radios had a schematic and instructions stuffed in a pocket inside the cabinet. What symptoms do or don't you have? Valve or solid state? Telefunken, Opta, Korting, Becker, Grundig and others shared similar circuits that may help to decipher what's going on. If the radio sat a long time, it may be as simple as oxidized or corroded contacts or connections. Check voltage change/battery-AC/on-off switches, etc.

Walt,
The brand must be Kuba or Carmen I see no other mention of more familiar brands as you mention.
It has 3 or 4 mentions of the number 664 so maybe thats the model number.
No Schematic tucked anywhere in the back or anywhere else that I see.
It has 6 tubes.
EAF801
ECH81
12AT7
EM84
C41 D5F1 Not sure about these markings
_ _ _ _ 5 partially shielded with the tube markings obscured.

It has red tag with 112617-664 USA
and WHite tag with 112593 664 USA

Stamped in Chassis is R9-34 and Lag.-Nr. 56-885
It Has AM FM SW Phono

The ac cord is gone and I have not tried to power it up yet. There is circuit board and valves (tubes) in this set.
