Predicta troubleshooting

Anyone put together a comprehensive listing of common faults? I mean, other than poor sockets and bad caps.
Is there a good "jumping off" point, i.e., replace all the caps in the horiz output circuit, etc. My main concern is that the Sams doesn't show the makeup of all of the encapsulated components. Has anyone out there have access to a drawn out schematic of these so I can build my own?
Thanks!

Hi,
Actually, Sams was pretty good with a complete schematic, even with the encapsulated parts. If you are building one from scratch, maybe you might want to consider checking out the new Predicta's at www.predicta.com They have acquired the licenses needed to produce the sets once again. These are color too.

Hello

The one I did had no out of the norm problems. Bad socket on 2 tubes. Relpaced all black plastic caps (these are worse than the paper ones) , electro's, and replaced bad tubes. TV fired up just fine with no problems. After doing 3 TV's I have learned that if I leave in paper or black plastic caps there will be problems with the set. Its not a matter of if but when.

Just my 2 cents.
