Help With Zenith I.D.
8/6/2008 2:12:25 PMJohnny
Howdy all. Just got this one in and I can't find anything on it. It is a table model and has Zenith plastered all over it inside and out. On the back of the chassis it is stamped "CHASSIS 8A02" and another number 6 9 1260. It's 8 tube, speaker on chassis in front and two smaller speakers mounted to inside of cabinet. Knobs on L/R sides of front and big dial face in center with a knob in center of that that appears to drive a pot that's internal of the speaker. Tube line-up is as follows. 2X-12BA6, 12AU6, 12AT7, 19T8, 35C5, 6AB4, 6BJ6. Is this thing home made? Thanks for the help!

The tubes in the above don't even come close to your chassis.
However 8C02 does match your line up.

:Carl, Thank you very much. You hit it right on the money. That's the schematic and the next page showed the chassis and align. procedure. I book-marked that site and downloaded all the djvu stuff so I could view things. I've only been into these things for about a year and I am learning sooo much from folks like you. It really is appreciated. I do have an electronics background but that says nothing for these old radios. I'm retired and really getting into these things and I hope to someday be as much help to other new-comers as folks like you have been to me. Thanks again!
