Sprague Electrolytics - Polarity?
8/4/2008 1:32:28 PMHenry Younce
Just purchased a vintage Sprague 2.0uf-600v, threaded nut, electrolytic, and I'm unable to determine which of the two lugs is positive or which is negative. My ohmmeter shows both terminals to be open with respect to the can. One lug is 1/4 in. higher, on the column, than the other. Help!

Help!. . . .as in Help, help me. . . Rhonda ?

One lug is 1/4 in. higher. . . .(The positive terminal), on the column, than the other(The negative tereminal). The can is floating .

Now, go back to your original post and consult the thumbnail schematic I submitted, to see how to install it.

Sir Henry:

Hmmmmm, I am now seeing that the last months info is still not spooled up and fully archived yet, so at THIS very instant, you probably can't get in to view that last mentioned posts info.

Not to worry though, I'll just sneak in thru the HTML window and unlock the door and leave it ajar, jest a wee crack, 'fer 'ye. . . .

. . . . . . OPEN SESAME ! ! !
