Need schematic and manual. Please help!

I have an old Oxford Tartak CT-400 capacitor analyzer that I picked up at a garage sale a while back. Great condition (minus the caps). Would love to put it to use on my workbench. If someone could point me in the right direction to find a manual for this and a schematic, that would be great! Thanks for the help. Chris.

I checked the 'bama' web site and they don't have Oxford or Tartak at all. Do you have any more information?

Yeah, I tried that website too with no luck. Nothing on the web anywhere really. I will post a picture of it and put the link here later tonight if I have time. This unit does not have a tuning eye like I have seen on most others, only a meter that reads Ohms, AC volts, M.A., Volts DC. I am not familiar with using analyzers for capacitors or I could probably figure it out. Maybe after posting a picture someone will know how to operate just by looking at its functions. Oxford-Tartak Radio Corp. must not have been around for too long or were bought out by some other bigger company. Really hard to find information about them even on the Web. Someone out there must know something about this company or this capacitor tester. Thanks, Chris.

Chris: Unless somebody offers a better idea, I would suggest pawing around on BAMA, among the popular vendors (e.g., Heath, B&K, Eico, Sprague, Aerovox, etc.). You should be able to find info on a similar cap checker. Many of them were similar.

My Eico 950, for example, has many of the same controls, except an eye tube rather than a meter.

Hi Doug and Chris,
I have an Eico 950, too, and noticed some similarity. It, too, has a voltage knob and power factor knob, and may be a dumbed down version of Chris' unit.
I agree with Doug, checking for similarities to the Eico would be a good place to start. If you get it working, you will have a better tester than we have.
