Does anyone have or know the alignment procedure
for an Atwater Kent mod 55 ?

Loosen up the capicitor mounts so you can get a screwdriver into the center pully to just loosten the pully setscrews. Set tuner on 0% and move all 3 capacitor's vanes into their retracted position. tighten setscrews enough just not to slip. set tuning dial midpoint at 1000. Inject a 1000 kc rf signal w 400 hz audio mod.at lowest power you can hear with your signal generator at the antenna, move tuning knob untill max output in speaker. use osciliscope if you have one on the detector grid. switch audio mod off, rf only - adjust detector capacitor (#3) for max signal on Oscope. tune center cap #2 and then first rf cap #1 in that order. I find that just setting all of the caps to fully retracted at 0% is pretty close enough most of the time.
