Antique Radio Identity Problem
7/4/2008 2:42:32 PMMichael & Michelle
My wife just purchased a radio for me that I cannot seem to identify. I was hoping someone could help.

I have pictures too

It has a plate on the front that says:
COMMANDER OF THE AIR
SUPERHETERODYNE
On the back the paper identity plate is too faded to read except for the Serial Number:
S 13-7S 455321

On the Dial it says "7 SUPER" on the dial face. The numbers read 55, 60, 70, 80, 90, 00, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50

It also has a plate inside the back that says "CABINET BY FURNAS"

It has a total of 7 tubes.
80
47
35 2EA
27
24 2EA

Thank You for any help you can give

Follow this link, fill in the tube numbers and it will return a list of radios that use that tube lineup.

Hi; There is a radio made by Majestic called "Mighty Monarch of the Air" which is somewhat along the same name although I think it is a more recent radio than yours. A company named The William Welty Co. also made a "Mighty Monarch of the Air"
