Zenith 9S232 knobs and shutterleaf springs
6/26/2008 11:59:48 PMEddie
I started on my 9S262, which had only one of the 2 shutterleaf springs, and that one broke from the stress of removing it! It had plenty of blackened places on it - perhaps too much tarnish? Was I too hard on it somehow? Is this common? Can exact replacements be found? I temporarily substituted a "kludge" with similar strength springs with some steel-wire extenions on them.

ALSO am missing the knobs - just in case someone has the lever and 2 knobs that go on the tuning shaft, and the smaller tone knob. I do have "substitutes" for the 2 full size "Z" knobs on the sides - if someone only has some of the knobs.

Another shutterdial I have needs the main dial and the AM shutterleaves becuase of severe paint flaking. The 2 sets of shortwave leaves are OK on this one. Anyone have extras? I've heard the RadioDaze decal kit for this large dial is intimidating to apply properly.

I also need all the tuning belts - but it looks like 1/16" O-rings would work well for this, unless someone has a stockpile of originals.

I might as well ask for a "20-135" "RF plate choke", the one with 2 windings on it.

Thank You,
Eddie
