I am restoring a Firestone Air Chief bakelite from
1948 that my wife got at an auction. It's a
standard All American Five. I'm
considering replacing all the capacitors. 4 of the
capacitors are 100mfd at 500V according to
my schematic. Since the voltages in this radio are
nowhere near that level (there is no power
transformer-it runs at line voltage level), shouldn't
I be able to get by with 150V rated caps?
These caps are for the AF Plate bypass, the diode RF
filter, and the oscillator grid cap. Thanks
for any help.
