radio is making squeeling noise

i had just finished getting my silvertone 6034 radio working and all the tubes replaced and lights working and then as i got it installed into the cabinet and tested it once more the most god awfull squeeling comes out instead of the radio, what happened?

Hi,
It may be nothng more than a blob of solder, or wire moved into contact with something that a wire should not be contacting.

I would check to make sure that wires and leads are dressed out correctly, and all solder joints are sound.

If it passes that step, Go back and check the parts you changed, make sure they are connected correctly, and are correct polarity on paper caps was observed. Also check to make sure the replacements were good- sometimes they can be initially unsound- even if "new".

If it passes this step, check the tubes, it is assumed that these were checked initially, it does not hurt to check them agin.
