Does anyone know how to find alignment instructions for a Zenith 7S657R? I can't find them on riders or beitmans.

Hi Neal

Zenith alignemnt information isn't with each schematic in Rider. Need to find another model which includes alignment data. See if this one works?

HI Norm,

I just finished restoring a 7S682. I have alingment instructions for that. The two sets are indeed very similiar. Just a few different tubes on the power end. The only difference I notice right away is the 7S657R has an additional 'N' trimmer.

My capacitors should be here tomorrow. I haven't had any luck in finding some light bulb protection for the power transformer. I've been looking for a bulb with a socket that I can mount. It's been hard to find a bulb that has a 300 volt rating, let alone the mounting part. I dropped my fuse rating to 3/4 of an amp.

It will be nice to hear this thing purr like a kitten, and I know it's going to sooner or later. Especially with good help...Neal

Hi Neal

Years ago they used #47 lamps in series with transformer high voltage leads. These bulbs are rated .15 amps. Much lower than your .75 amp fuse. 1/4 amp slo-blo fuses were popular in back and white TV's. Anything is better than nothing.

Hi Norm,

I'll get a 150ma to 250ma bulb soldered in there on the two end leads somehow before I fire it up. Good advice sometimes falls on deaf ears, but not this time. Right now I'm putting the electrolytics in. What about the voltage rating? I don't know what a #47 lamp is rated at. I wouldn't imagine that it has any leads or sockets with it? Should I just solder to the case and the end pin? Just wondering out loud...Neal
